Various – Morning Of The Earth (Original Film Soundtrack)

Such a lovely and feel good record from a movie i didn't knew it existed.

cover sticker says Digitally Remastered (per my copy in hand)

Comparing this to my original Aus first press.
Plays much better than the original pressing, less background noise and bigger soundstage.
Simple Ben is brilliant on this version, highly recommend for a listening copy.

This is worth picking up. great sound overall , not a MOFI production but nice warm 70s sound with some good base.
Some suprisingly good tracks on here as well.

got a unplayed copy, but both sides are over timed, very quiet - think was better for a double record

Sounds pretty good but I can hear a bit of distortion in the left channel on some songs maybe a clean will fix that. Does anyone know if this cut from the analogue tapes?

Could be one of the best surf movie S/Ts of all time. Great songs, fine lyric sentiments & excellent singer-songwriter moods. Wax the board & paddle out the back with this resonating in your brain.

Very few soundtrack recordings give themselves to anything more than a ing link to the film as I guess a movie soundtrack should. Morning Of The Earth defies that definition! it cleverly assembles (in that era) Australia's finest musicians and makes a group statement through the music of a land that existed once where you could grab a change of shorts a board and a couple of casettes in the van and head on up the coast!

I was fortunate to pick up a copy of this film a couple of years back..
Probably bootlegged and a rare underground copy of a copy but who cares because it's such a great film! And I don't even surf!..
With this film it made me realize that surfing isn't just a sport, a fashionable life style BUT a way of life.
Soon as I had watched the film I was straight on discogs to see if I could get a copy? Nope!
I then went on the filmmakers website (or was it a website just dedicated to the film maker?) and found 2 copies for sale.
But the prices for such an unusual LP were unfortunately sky high £££ three figures!
It's not until now that I have finally got a copy!
Superb sound!
But you must watch the film to appreciate the tunes as they fade gently into the background as every soundtrack should.
The soundtrack and film can not exist individually!
They have to be together.

Obviously G. Wayne Thomas Morning Of The Earth is the star of the show but As a lover of funk rock with jazz this track rocks it!
