Enema of the State is the third studio album by American pop punk band Blink-182. Recorded at various locations throughout California with producer Jerry Finn, the album was first released on June 1, 1999 in the United States on MCA Records. "What's My Age Again?", "All the Small Things" and "Adam's Song" were released as singles, each highly successful.
The album was originally released on CD and cassette in 1999. Many of these CDs were enhanced CDs, containing extra footage. Many early editions of these releases are now rare, as both the band corrected the artwork to follow the style formatting of the name (blink-182 should never have a capital B) and the Red Cross requested their logo be removed from the nurse's cap in the original cover. An Australian Tour bonus disc edition followed, with an extra disc containing rare live tracks.
There are three different versions of the cover art. The first release has a red cross on the nurse's hat and a capital B in the Blink-182 logo. The band preferred the lower-case b in the band name, and the second version features the red cross and a lower-case b. The American Red Cross then forced the band to remove the red cross from their artwork or they would be in violation of the Geneva Convention, and thus, the third iteration of the album cover features a plain white nurse's hat. This third version is the only version to bear a Parental Advisory label for profane lyrics.
Unlike Blink-182's first two albums, it was not released on vinyl. However, there have been many presses of Enema of the State since 2009. Independent label Mightier Than Sword pressed the record twice on vinyl for its tenth anniversary. In addition, another version was released on vinyl at Hot Topic in December 2009. A third, super limited repressing of the album by MTS occurred in July 2011.

I was very skeptical of the sound quality but Kevin Gray is my favorite vinyl mastering engineer so pulled the trigger.
Hands down one of the best sounding modern records I own. I grew up with these songs and covering them with my high school band and listening to them on this reissue just blew my head off.
Who would’ve thought a pop punk record from peak of loudness war would have huge soundstage, massive dynamic range and beautiful separation between instruments.
100/100 and would highly recommend. -

Edited 2 months agoive had this for a couple years now, but im finally coming here to say, avoid this pressing like its the plague. mine is the uncensored copy, not sure if the clean mispress just sounds different, but mine is absolutely terrible. curious if the current standard black presses sound any different. -
Qobuz delivered the goods with this 24-Bit / 96-kHz reissue. Apparently not remastered but it sounds amazing. Very smooth but also very detailed. There's no ear daggers or boomy bass. It can (and should be) played very loud.
This is essentially a 20th anniversary release. Kudos to Qobuz for offering this hi-res reissue. -
This should have been a double. As others have mentioned, the first second of about half the tracks are cut wrong and the inner groove distortion is pretty bad, especially on Side A. Typical major label cost cutting bullshit. -
Anyone ever do a shootout on how this version compares to the black audiophile version? Is the pressing comparable minus the deluxe packaging? LP same graham? -
sounds wonderful, genuinely noticed things i never heard before (like the lower backing vocals on dysentery gary). unfortunately the cut ins kinda ruin the experience for me. the transition from dumpweed to don't leave me gets ruined and it sucks. other than that, it sounds damn good. -
Someone put KPG in the credits of this pressing - but I’m only aware of his mastering on SRC pressings, which this is not. Can someone who owns this pressing confirm if they see KPG or KG in their runout matrix? -
Everything about my copy suggests this is the pressing, however the runout reflects that of an SRC pressing, reading as "B0023745-01 SRC 080-A/B" with similar runouts and such. Everything else suggests it's this pressing, including the artwork in the record's center, which is not shown on any SRC pressing. Has anyone else had irregular runouts on their copies? -
Love the album, however, my back cover is printed horizontally, not vertically (so the barcode is in the top right for example). Anyone elses have a copy like this? Probably explains why it was on sale!
