Yes – Classic Yes

Doesn't sound very good. My copy is visually unscathed but it sounds flat; the vocals are like static. Regardless... very cool to have as a collector!

This was included as a freebie with some other records I purchased. I'm not much of a prog rock guy, but it's impossible not to be impressed by the musicianship and technical proficiency on display throughout this compilation. Just not really my thing. No issues with this pressing, the music comes through loud and clear, and my copy is in really nice shape, playing nice and clean with just a trace of faint surface noise at the beginning of each side. No 7" single with the two live tracks, but I can't say I really miss it.

Super compilation. I recall buying this in an independent record/tape store in the City of London, in August 1982. Until acquiring its CD equivalent in the mid-2000s, must have played it a thousand times.

My copy has the same runouts and includes the 7-inch.

There's a '92 Cinram edition that is identical and its sound is generally average, but, Wonderous Stories is the best I've heard. Two live tracks from '78 are not 'Classic' Yes!

A great addition when you don't have the 7' in your copy of Classic Yes.

Why is this listed under "Singles" when it SHOULD be listed under "Compilations"? This needs changing.

Why isn't this album listed under "compilations"? Is there really enough new material on it to be considered an album?
