Death Cab For Cutie – Transatlanticism

Super happy with my copy. Was hoping this stood up to the high standard set by the bark47 2LP of Plans and it certainly does - wide soundstage, great detail, quality pressing. Both this Plans are in my list of best sounding LPs. Recommended.

This is a fantastic pressing. It’s the best I’ve heard this album so far. Great mix and master on this. Packaging and artwork is great as well. No complaints at all and i recommend this copy. Those with IGD (inner groove distortion) probably should know what stylus they have. If you have a conical or elliptical needle you are more prone to IGD. But if you have a Shibata or Microlinear stylus you greatly minimize and sometimes eliminate these problems with a proper setup. Of course bad pressings won’t help but this pressing isn’t bad by any stretch. It’s excellent.

Absolutely stunning pressing. Dead silent with top notch mastering. The jacket feels good quality as well as the the booklet that comes with it. Everything a proper reissue should be.

A strong pressing in of dynamics and volume, but I'm getting some sibilance on enger Seat, which is a bit annoying.

I have a pretty decent setup with a microcline stylus so had no issues in of muddy high frequencies/sibilance. Both the discs were flat and noise free.

The mastering on this is superb! It’s rare to buy a reissue of late 90s to mid 2000 albums that sounds this good as a lot of the albums from this era suffers from peak loudness war/poor mastering.

This record sounds very wide and deep. Instrument separation is very impressive and the vocal has so much life.

Overall packing and liner notes are great too. Highly recommend.

Extremely clear vinyl, sounds perfect and plays just as good. Flat record, no complaints!

My copy came direct from VMP and was dead flat and quiet with no skips. I think it is a great pressing and packaging.

The reissued edition is absolutely stunning. No clicks or pops, very good balanced sound with basses and nuances. Highly recommend to buy this vinyl in order to get one the best indie albums ever.

This, to me, is an album that was apparently meant for vinyl with how warm and open it sounds. Being able to hear Ben's breath escaping on several lines of the title track makes it feel like you're in the studio with him -- not sure how to say that in a less weird way. I hate to be that guy, but I don't think I've truly heard this album until I heard it on vinyl, as in this pressing.

I bought this album on 2024/06/22 in and I really do wonder if my copy is from 2003 or it is a repress of this one. I noticed that the matrix / runout of my copy on Side A is B390340-01 A2 HL, which differs from the one for this issue. Other than that it looks exactly as shown in the images here.

My vinyl copy sounds pretty good!
