Lovely sounding, economical pressing of two great, usually expensive and generally worn, albums. -
This pressing is absolutely phenomenal. Rich, dynamic, punchy. Purchased used on Discogs to replace my problematic MOV pressing of Mingus Ah Um, and this not only beats it in every way, but you get the bonus of a great pressing of Mingus Dynasty as well. If you ever see one in a bargain bin, don't hesitate. -
Edited 6 months agoThis two-fer is a fantastic way to get quality AAA issues of Mingus masterpieces Ah Um and Dynasty. I am thoroughly satisfied by the lively dynamics, excellent imaging of each instrument in complex arrangements, nice detail, and intimate presence. Hard to beat value for the avid listener if you can get a nice copy.

Can anyone confirm if the back of the gatefold was printed upside down? I don’t see anything in the notes if this was deliberate or accidental. -
