Pressing is beautiful. Basically zero surface noise, the music is mastered to be nice and loud, just overall lovely. Also the packaging is nice.

I enjoy the hardcore, mind-melting stuff Autechre does on most of their albums (NTS Sessions and elseq come to mind) but I enjoy this album a lot too. Very accessible and is just fun all around. No need to think, you can just listen and have fun.

Pretty average pressing, nothing too special apart from Metaz Form8 and M4 Lema sounding fantastic on vinyl. I found this pressing to actually sound quite low end heavy on some songs but nothing too serious but I am happy to own now one of my favorite Autechre albums on vinyl.

I appreciate Autechre even though I was never a hardcore fan. My fist encounter and purchase was the Basscad EP in 1994. Then I bought a couple of their records from the discount bin during the 90's because they sounded interesting. After 2000's I gave up on them... Now I came across SIGN and.. wow. It's a record that somehow links back to their early work, but also sounds more "mature". A few tracks (M4 Lemma, F7, si00, au14 and sch.mefd 2) feature the the signature hiphop/electro-inspired percussion and are more lively, but the majority is basically beat less (rhytmic) ambient music. It is very soothing and calming. I find it a very accessible album. I am also again astonished by the sound engineering quality and uniqueness of the Autechre sonic universe. Some hardcore fans of complex atonal noise might be disappointed, I get that, but hey, Autechre released enough of that during the last decade. They brought out a less complex and more listenable album, because they wanted and because they could. Thank you, Autechre, for this record!

In some ways this is the album I've been waiting for from Booth and Brown. As I get older I find that I'm not as interested in their exploration of complex beats and percussion. Sign strips away much of that part of their sound and leaves what's underneath which to me, is the more lasting element of what they do. There's some wonderful ages on this album. It has a calming feel overall. My only gripe is that, once again, the Japanese market get an amazing exclusive track that's sorely missing from the UK release which is a massive shame :(

Powerful album by the masters of the style. Listen from front to back. Takes me to another place. As much as I love vinyl, this really needs continuous play from a disc or digital. But at the end of the day, consume however you can get it.

Eh not a fan of this LP really. I feel like autechre are going through the motions nowadays. Hopefully I am wrong and some day it will click with me.

my copies of sign and plus have developed loud high snaps just by sitting on the shelf. replace your inner sleeves with better quality/padded inner sleeves! can't comprehend why autechre (or any record) is released in cardboard sleeves.
