This is a nice album by Vaughan brothers. This is not so good as other Stevie Ray Vaughan albums and is probably all digital. The sound is not so fresh and airy as analog recorded and mastered albums, but is warm and crisp.

Music wise, this album has a tighter and punchier feel musically and sonically than any SRV & DT album. There is a different rhythm section (NYC cats Larry Aberman - Drums & Al Berry - Bass) than the usual Texas cats and it gives the album a tighter and more R&B feel, but I think that's a good thing. I think the songs really cook and shows the Vaughan Brothers in a different light, even when it's a blues or shuffle groove. I really believe this is a misunderstood album especially by SRV fanatics. I only have it on an original CD press and maybe the bottom end could use a shot or a re-mix (at some point), but then again, Al Berry has a less "flabby" tone on Bass than Tommy Shannon. That's not a knock because I love Tommy's playing and tone, but it's just a different tone. I'm going to pick it up on vinyl very soon, but it's a great listen either way. I think Nile Rodgers did a great job in adding his production elements, but still letting the brothers do their thing. For me, easily an 8 out 10. Rave On Stevie! *PS Just listened to the whole CD and the bass is just fine. Yes, it's tighter and punchier, but it's certainly there. HAPPY B DAY SRV (writing this on 10/3/22).

Music wise, this is perhaps the least exciting Vaughan record, but has some nice production by Nile Rodgers.

Highlights here are "Telephone Song" and "Tick Tock". Also, "Brothers" is an instrumental take on "Texas Flood", and with some accordion. Otherwise, The record is pretty snoozy.

This was a new copy and unfortunately B1 and B2 randomly skip throughout. This is a real bummer.
Perhaps related to the pressing? I don't know.

Anyone else have trouble with side 2 skipping uncontrollably and in random places? My vinyl is in mint condition, I bought the lp and cd as a kid and never opened the vinyl until now to play it. Only happens on this record, only happens on side 2... I'm pretty sure asking about tracking weight, what TT and what stylus will not add to this discussion. Just looking to see if anyone else has found an issue with their vinyl.
