Big Youth – Screaming Target

I think this is the gray marble pressing, but it's kind of a purplish gray. According to Discogs, Clocktower pressed this on several different color variants in 2021, and one of them was purple. So maybe this is a blend. Who the hell knows with Abraham/Clocktower. They also list Brad Osbourne as producer. That's 100000% false, SCREAMING TARGET was produced by Gussie Clarke. But overall, this reissue isn't too shabby - it's got the same 12 tracks in the same order as the 1973 Trojan UK release, the music sounds good, there's plenty of bass, it's fairly crisp up top, and in glorious mono throughout. My copy plays nice and clean, with one noticeable pop, towards the end of B1, "The Killer".

Incredible early dub. One of the best. This album is perfect and set bar for everything that came after.

Is anybody know are the Clocktower reissues the original Jamaican mix or the weird split channel UK Trojan mix? I assume the Clocktower is the original mix...but... Who knows these days???

Very weird, but my copy of this had the vocals mixed entirely to one stereo channel and the music to the other.

I have the gold marbled one and for what it is, it’s a decent press. I will likely never find an original so this one does the job. My copy doesn’t have surface noise or any other noticeable defects. I have had some brutal Abraham pressings, this one isn’t bad.

Does anyone know more about the Society Squad, The – Skylarking (Version) track? Very cool version of skylarking and I don't know anything else about Society Squad. Is it Horace Andy related? Thanks!
