Yameta Co. Ltd.

Profile:

Publishing and production entity for Yameta brand.

Yameta was first a partnership of Jimi Hendrix.

Yameta was 90% owned by businessman John Hillman, based in the Bahamas. The company effectively "employed" the management duo and artist. There followed a complex legal battle involving Yameta, dissolved in 1976, compounded by the untimely death of Hendrix and then Jeffery, whose estate held the works. Al Hendrix settled a deal to hold the works for the Hendrix family but, in 2005, Hillman re-assessed his music rights and assigned them to Purple Haze Records.
This was then contested by the family/Experience Hendrix.

On some Hendrix releases (e.g., The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis: Bold As Love), the company is incorrectly credited as: "Yaneta Co. Ltd." (typo).

Please also consider Yameta Publishing Co. when shown that way on release.
