In 1918, P. Jurgenson's publishing house was nationalized and continued to operate as a division of the Music Department of the People's Commissariat of Education = Музыкальный отдел Наркомпроса (until 1921), and then as the Music Sector of the State Publishing House = Музсектор Госиздата.
And in 1930, the institution acquired independence and was henceforth called the State Music Publishing House (Muzgiz) = Государственное музыкальное издательство (Музгиз).
In 1963, a reorganization took place, and the Muzyka = Музыка publishing house was created on the basis of Muzgiz = Музгиз.
