a very interesting and unique release of its kind.the cassette contains both albums in their entirety, HEAVY METAL MANIAC is mastered from the original tapes of the LP, while VIOLENCE & FORCE is completely remixed (to obviate excessive distortions of bass frequencies, excessively pumped on the original mix) and a part of SAXONS OF THEFIRE, which in the previous recordings was recorded with a 2 second quality sounds failure, here it looks perfect. The quality is impeccable! The CD instead, despite unfortunately losing those that in my opinion were two great gems of both albums (MISTRESS OF EVIL and EVIL SINNER), presents the 1983 recordings with a completely new restored sound, although unfortunately 'IRON DOGS fades too fast and BLACK WITCH is deprived of its original bell-based intro. all the songs of the debut album ends with a rough cut on the conclusion and you lose about a second of echo / reverb, even 'bout the track IRON DOGS, disappears a noisy "tlock" between the first and the second part, probably considered a sound that should not appear on cd format in a period in which the cd itself still was not able to take off as a musical .1984 songs are also here present with the cleaned sound of the cassette and this same tracklist, without by EVIL SINNER, will be repressed as is with the same mix, in the 1999 edition of VIOLENCE & FORCE. In the CAROLINE RECORDS archives still exist the complete and NOT edited masters of both albums, including WORLD WAR III and DEATH REVENGE, together with LONG LIVE THE LOUD album, FEEL THE KNIFE ep, the song RIDERS FROM DARKNESS and UNVEILING THE WICKED lp.Anyhow ,in the 1996 somebody leaked the aforementioned masters that were bootlegged for release of the 1985 and 86 albums, including the EP as a bonus on LONG LIVE THE LOUD (except RIDERS FROM DARKNESS which still unreleased officially and not from original tapes on a CD format).
