Pink Project

Profile:

Italo Disco cover / mashup band.

Pink Project was launched by Italian producers Luciano Ninzatti and Stefano Pulga, both of whom had worked in other Italo disco projects such as I Cugini Di Campagna. The "Pink" in their name comes from the band "Pink Floyd" which they covered.
They specialized in mixing songs (aka mashups) that are musically or stylistically similar to each other, reorchestrating them to create new compositions. The band is best known for their 1982 track "Disco Project," which is retrospectively considered one of the first mash-ups in music history, mixing Alan Parson Project & Pink Floyd.
Their cult 1982 TV live performance as space Capirote (Spanish penitents) was the direct inspiration of Sebastien Tellier's " Cochon Ville " video clip (taken from is 2012 Album My God Is Blue).
