Swedish progressive metal band from Stockholm, formed in 1990.

Whilst the band has gone through various personnel changes singer, guitarist, and songwriter Mikael Åkerfeldt has remained the consistent factor in the band.

The band incorporates progressive, folk, blues, classical and jazz influences into their compositions, as well as influences from black metal and death metal.
