Profile:	Venetian painter (28 October 1697 – 19 April 1768) famous for his landscapes, or vedute, of Venice. He was also an important printmaker in etching. Not to be confused with his nephew Bernardo Bellotto (ca. 1721/2 – 17 October 1780), sometimes also called "Canaletto", especially in Poland and .
