Edited 7 months agoNot only is this an incredible value (my new copy was shipped to my doorstep for $15), the sound is mostly outstanding. Great dynamics and presence in the recording and mastering by Vlado Meller, particularly on Tokyo. Berlin is cut too loud and is a bit compressed, but the real treat is Side A of Tokyo. Just be sure to clean those "new" records from 1976-77...mine arrived dusty and dirty.

Two great live sets , one with Sam Rivers and one with Wayne Shorter in 1964 and Hancock, Williams and Carter… what’s not to like, all this for under $20! Crazy good deal

This is a fantastic value to get these two incredible live albums at once. Absolutely excellent sound quality as well in case you’re wondering!!

Edited 5 months agoEven though they're from roughly the same time period, I do like the Berlin recording over the Tokyo set. The band just feels more inventive in that one. But overall, perfectly decent live recordings. This is Miles Davis on the cusp between two sounds, with a relatively new band in tow (Carter, Williams, Hancock to name a few).
